Lodge Donation to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice

The Lodge discovered that the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton in Cheltenham was in urgent need of new Volumetric pumps in order to treat patients on site, rather than having to move them to hospital for some treatments.  We therefore contributed £1200 for the purchase of a pump under an emergency donation authorised by the Worshipful Master.  Following the sad passing of Worshipful Master Jonathan Palfrey in June this year after a long battle with cancer, it was a fitting tribute to make this presentation in Jonathan’s memory.

The Covid Pandemic has prevented us presenting to the Hospice in person, but we received a message of thanks from Mike Tague, the Head of Hospice Fund Raising together with a photograph of the pump as follows:

“Good morning
I’ve attached a few photos of the pump and kit that your lodge kindly funded in memory of Jonathan.
The photo is with one of our Senior Nurses, Sandie, and is taken on our Kings Ward in the In-patient Unit.  The bit of the kit that we were waiting the longest for is the stand.  The green tag is there to show that the equipment is clean and ready for use.
It is such a shame that we could not all meet up in person but we are very pleased and grateful to all of you that we now have this critical equipment.
With all our best wishes
Mike Tague

Head of Hospice Fundraising”
